She also reiterated that the success she enjoys today is due to her dedication, hard work, and diligence.
Speaking during the event, Dr Shaibu Hussieni said the reason for the event was that Akindele has achieved so much for herself and to the delight of the industry, such that it would not be right to present the awards to her without a proper event. He also noted that he has a career history with Akindele, which dates back many years and is happy to have been associated with her.

My best kept secret –Anta Laniyan
Award-winning actor, producer and director, Antar Laniyan, recently disclosed what many did not know about him.
Laniyan, who is one of the leading Nollywood actors and directors, has featured in several films, including English- and Yoruba-language films.
Laniyan admitted to being very shy despite his popularity.
He said, “I’m so shy that I can’t woo a woman. A friend helped me woo my wife. Okay, so it’s been over three decades now, and I still can’t woo a woman. It took a very good friend of mine to convey my feelings to the woman who is now my wife today. I can be that shy.”
Unknown to many, Antar Laniyan is a great lover of football and a staunch supporter of the English football club, Chelsea FC.
In his words, “I love football a lot. I’m a Chelsea fan. It was actually my father’s club before he died, and let’s just say I took over the loyalty from him. I remember a memorable time of supporting Chelsea FC when Didier Drogba was still a player, and the team played against Barcelona FC. When Drogba scored the goal, I couldn’t control my excitement.”
